Routine Visual Inspections
Its primary function of this inspection is to identify faults or dangers arising from vandalism or breakages as early as possible so that remedial work or appropriate action can be proactively carried out.
Operational Inspections
This level of inspection looks in more detail at the equipment, essentially at vandalism and certain types of minor wear. With a good, routine hands-on check linked to the annual inspection, the quarterly check may not be necessary. RoSPA publishes "Routine Inspection of Playgrounds" to assist with this inspection.
Annual Inspections
This high level of inspection needs to be carried out by a specialist not connected with the play Equipment Manufacturer. Essentially it looks at vandalism, minor and major wear, long-term structural problems, risk assessment, changes in Standard compliance and good design practice.
